Culty Quake community and music festival will Shake the Toon on Saturday 29th May 2010. Local band the Bulletholes and new Comrie youth band Bizzfitch are set for their first festival appearence in a world music line up just for Comrie. 'Comrie Special' tickets are available at £30 to local residents while the full price tickets are only £35 (only £5 per band for a full days entertainment!). There will be a bar (Comrie friendly prices) and food outlets to keep you fed and watered and having a great time. Tickets are available from the CDT office at 5 Dunira Street (01764 670769) at the Comrie Post Office or online by clicking the button below. Just announced due to local demand £10 tickets for under 12's and under 5's go free (both must be accompanied by an adult). These tickets are available in Comrie or buy your adult ticket online and get your under 12's tickets on the day. The Community Festival runs from 12.00 to 17.00 up at the camp and is a free event. The festival will be full of activities, sports events, stalls, information and surprises. Try your hand (and everything else) at Parkour free running workshops. Enjoy drama performances and see the fantastic environmental exhibition Hard Rain (we have the one that was displayed at the UN building in New York!) Come and look round the camp and see how your plans are shaping up by visiting the exhibition in the Comrie Development Trust hut. Have a look around the allotments and Comrie in Colour polytunnel. See the new business spaces we have created for local companies. The exhibition will have details of the planned eco pod holiday rental development on the hill ground and ideas for the new biomass plant that will earn money for our community. From 2.00pm to midnight Culty Quake will have Comrie’s very first music festival. Featuring 7 fantastic bands with a festival bar and food stalls to keep you going for the 8 hours of wall-to-wall music. See Comrie’s own Bulletholes at their first festival gig and a specially commissioned new band called Bizzfitch showcasing Comrie’s young musical talent (Ryan Mowat, Struan Carson, Catriona Carstairs and Andy Donaldson). Day of Days from Crieff complete the local line up.
In addition Culty Quake features Scotland’s new, 13 piece musical sensation the Treacherous Orchestra fresh from their first national tour and sell out gig at this years Celtic Connections. Bringing a world music theme we have the sensational Black Umfolosi 5 from Zimbabwe and the riotous Dangleberries. Sorren MacLean from Mull completes the line up
